Raised washer and dryer. Bending down to take heavy loads of clothes out of a washer and dryer isn't good for anyone's back. A platform like this takes the (literal) pain out of washing and drying and has a seamless look.
The tiled floor is easy to clean, and the pretty decorative design elevates the room above the strictly utilitarian. The addition of ceiling spots, meanwhile, ensures a light, spacious feel despite the lack of windows. Don’t forget to look up. Make the most of a utility room with a high ceiling by fitting a hanging clothes rack. In this galley-style scheme, the use of a pull-down rack ensures the room isn’t rendered useless when clothes are being dried.
The ultimate sunroom acts as a second living room. It need not scream wicker. You may bring in upholstered seating, plush pillows and throws, indoor-outdoor rugs and occasional tables that you would think to use inside. A proper sunroom has electrical outlets to support floor and table lamps as well.
The open living room took the spot of the old kitchen. An 8-by-8-foot window flanked by glass-pane doors provides views of the backyard and floods the space with light, which is amplified by the maple ceiling panels and hickory floors.
