Sunrooms support leisurely living and increase square footage — often with lower construction costs than a fully finished room. If you're thinking about someday adding a sunroom or turning an existing space into a sunny retreat, here are some features to consider.
Find your library style. No matter your reading preferences, the books you choose to keep in your home should hold special meaning for you — books that are only so-so aren’t worth making room for on your shelves. Once you’ve decluttered your library, it’s time to decide on a sorting method.
Raised washer and dryer. Bending down to take heavy loads of clothes out of a washer and dryer isn't good for anyone's back. A platform like this takes the (literal) pain out of washing and drying and has a seamless look.
Mix up the lighting. Natural lighting is best, but it’s not always ample enough to effectively light a space as active as a game room. “Try to have at least two to three additional sources of light,” says Green. “Traditional pot lights, sconces and lamps work best.” Be sure all game tables and areas are appropriately lit with task lighting from above, so everything from the King of Spades to a cue ball can be properly seen.
